How to Plant Amaryllis Bulbs

1. Pot selection:

   • Choose a pot about 2–3 inches wider than the bulb.

   • Ensure it has good drainage holes.

2. Soil mix:

   • Use well-draining soil — a mix of garden soil + compost + sand or cocopeat works well.

3. Planting depth:

   • Plant the bulb so that ½ or ⅓ of it remains above the soil.

4. Watering:

   • Water lightly after planting.

   • Keep the soil slightly moist (not soggy) during growth.

Growing Conditions

• Light: Bright indirect sunlight (ideal for indoor pots) or full morning sun outdoors.

• Temperature: 20–30°C (thrives in warm climates like India).

• Humidity: Moderate; avoid overly damp conditions.

Blooming Time

• Bulbs usually bloom 6–8 weeks after planting.

• Each bulb can produce 2–3 flower stalks, each with 3–5 blooms.

After Flowering Care

1. Once flowers fade, cut off the flower stalk, but keep the leaves.

2. Continue watering and feeding the plant to allow the bulb to store energy.

3. When leaves yellow, reduce watering — this signals dormancy.

4. You can let the bulb rest for 6–8 weeks, then replant for the next bloom.
